QiGong ~ The dance of Life

Qigong is the ancient Daoist practice of self healing and nourishment of life.

We begin the class with “Dou” ~ the Inner Dancing and Drumming of the Heart, a practice of gentle shaking which help to release stagnation and awaken the Shen (Spirit) within the body.  We close each session with “Harvesting the Qi”, a gentle self-massage which helps to seal the energy of the practice and nourish the spirit.

Shamanic Tiger Qigong
(Laohu Gong)

In Daoist cosmology, the White Tiger represents the metal element and the Zheng (upright/righteous) Qi of the lungs. Practicing the movements of Tiger Qigong will help to strengthen your external energy field and awaken the strong spirit of the Tiger within you.

Class begins with Dou (inner dancing and drumming of the heart) shaking and ends with a short meditation and closing.

Fire Dragon Meridian Qigong
(Huo Long Jing Gong)

In this class series you will learn to embody the awakened energy of the Fire Dragon.  The energy of this ancient Neigong form is as sparks rising from the fire of transformation.  Connect with the rising spiral movements of the Fire Dragon to transform stagnant energy within your body into a free-flowing river of Qi. With regular practice, you will cultivate a field of fresh health and inspiration in your life.

The movements of Fire Dragon spiral and transform stagnation to free flowing lifeforce.  This form includes meridian tapping and guiding Qi in order to open and restore the healing river of energy within you.

Cosmic Orbit Qigong

(Zhoutian Qigong)

Cosmic Orbit Qigong is a powerful and ancient body/mind/spirit practice which helps to strengthen the inner current of healing universal Qi (energy) which flows within you and connects you with all that is.  This form is considered the spiritual heart of the Emei Zhengong lineage as it contains all of the energetic seed mantras (sacred sounds) of the tradition.  Combining slow, relaxed, focused movement with deep breathing and visualization, Orbit Qigong connects the vibration of your voice with the movement of Qi through your system.

Daoist Meditation

Daoist Meditation is the simple and natural practice of cultivating reality and guarding the One. In this meditation practice we engage and earth our spiritual energies through seated meditation supported by gentle energy work. If you have trouble sitting still in silence, no worries as you are encouraged to be natural, to move and stretch if needed, to sound if needed. Through this practice, we come closer to our innermost self and, as the red dust settles, we allow the deeper light within us shine into our lives.
